The mission of The Long Bay Symphony is to provide the highest quality musical performances and programs that educate and entertain while enhancing the cultural environment of the region.
As the Grand Strand?s professional symphony, we are committed to enhancing the quality of the cultural life of the region by providing the impetus and vision necessary for the continued growth of the arts community and by affording educational opportunities for all ages. The Long Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra remains a top priority as we invest in the cultural and artistic future of the region.
Annually, The Long Bay Symphony offers the following entertainment and education opportunities to the region:
Concerts
Symphony Series subscription concerts:
The series of four concerts features a wide range of classical, light classical, pops and family-oriented repertoire and internationally, nationally and locally acclaimed artists, choruses and groups.
Chamber Orchestra Series:
Three performances comprising 30 to 50 musicians in a smaller setting as a church. In the past, the Chamber Orchestra has presented programs on Bach, Handel?s Messiah in two different locations and concerts in conjunction with the Carolina Master Chorale.
Run-out, Family and Pops Concerts:
performance with Michael W. Smith at the Palace, performing with the Moody Blues at the opening of Hard Rock Park, a collaborative Family Artz Springfest with the Children?s Museum of SC, Franklin G. Burroughs and Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum, Horry County Arts and Cultural Council at The Market Common, fundraising Broadway themed c -
