All4Paws Launches 24/7 Microchip Scanning Station to Help Pets Get Home Sooner
Georgetown County, SC (August 2025) – All4Paws Animal Rescue is proud to announce a new, life-saving resource for pet owners and rescuers: a FREE, 24/7 microchip scanning station now available outside the facility. This community-accessible scanner empowers Good Samaritans to help reunite lost pets with their families—no shelter or vet trip required.
Found a pet?
- Scan for a microchip—anytime, day or night
- Contact the owner directly
- Skip the shelter and send pets straight home
With shelters across Georgetown & Horry Counties stretched beyond capacity, this simple tool offers a powerful solution: keep lost pets out of shelters and get them back where they belong—home.
Each year, an estimated 10 million pets go missing in the U.S. While many wear ID tags, others rely on microchips for identification. Until now, scanning a chip meant visiting a vet clinic or waiting for animal control—options that aren’t always available when time matters most.
“All4Paws believes in giving our community the tools to be part of the solution,” said Jennifer Averette, Marketing at All4Paws. “Missing and found pet posts flood our local Facebook groups every day, showing just how often animals go astray. This scanner puts the power of reunion in the hands of neighbors, dog walkers, beachgoers—anyone who finds a lost pet and wants to help.”
By reducing shelter intake, this initiative allows area shelters and rescue groups to focus on pets who truly need care and adoption—those who are neglected, surrendered, or in crisis.
It only works if pets are microchipped—so chip your pets and spread the word. Together, we can turn more “lost” into “found,” faster than ever.
