The Black River Initiative: Creating a State Park and Water Trails on the Black River

Description

1st Thursday at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library presents "The Black River Initiative: Creating a State Park and Water Trails on the Black River".  Erin Pate of the Open Space Institute will describe the Black River Initiative, a community-inspired vision to establish recreational water trails and a new state park along 70 miles of the beloved Black River.  This collaborative effort will protect wilderness areas of the river and aid flood retention while supporting the rural economy of Georgetown County.
