    Member Services & Office Assistant
    Organization: Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce
    Location: Pawleys Island, SC
    Reports To: President & CEO
    Status: Full-Time / Exempt


    Position Summary
    The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a friendly, organized, and service-oriented Member Services & Office Assistant to serve as the welcoming first point of contact for members, visitors, community partners, and the public.
    This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Chamber by managing front desk responsibilities, assisting with administrative and office functions, helping with member and visitor inquiries, and providing support for events, communications, and internal office organization.
    The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are exactly the same.

    Key Responsibilities
    Front Desk & Visitor Services
    • Greet and welcome members, visitors, partners, and guests in a warm and professional manner.
    • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries.
    • Provide general information about the Chamber, membership, events, tourism resources, and community services.
    • Assist with receiving and distributing mail, packages, and deliveries.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office/reception area.
    Administrative & Office Support
    • Provide general administrative support to the President & CEO and Chamber staff.
    • Assist with filing, copying, scanning, data entry, and document preparation.
    • Help maintain office supplies and place orders as needed.
    • Support scheduling, calendar coordination, and meeting preparation.
    • Assist with recordkeeping and basic office systems to ensure smooth daily operations.
    • Help prepare packets, welcome materials, correspondence, and other office documents.
    • Help maintain organized and accurate files related to invoices, receipts, and general office records.
    Membership & Customer Service Support
    • Assist with member inquiries and provide high-quality customer service.
    • Support new member onboarding processes and preparation of membership materials.
    • Help maintain accurate member and contact records in Chamber software and database systems.
    • Assist with invoicing support, membership renewals, and follow-up communication as assigned.
    Event & Program Support
    • Assist staff with preparation for Chamber events, meetings, ribbon cuttings, workshops, and community programs.
    • Help assemble event materials, nametags, signage, registration packets, and other event supplies.
    • Support event registration, check-in, and on-site guest assistance as needed.
    • Assist with post-event administrative tasks and follow-up.
    General Office Coordination
    • Help keep shared files, forms, and office systems organized and up to date.
    • Support internal communication and staff coordination on day-to-day office needs.
    • Perform other administrative and office-related duties as assigned to support Chamber operations.

    Qualifications
    • Associate degree or additional office/administrative training preferred.
    • Previous experience in reception, customer service, administrative support, office coordination, or related work preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with professionalism and efficiency.
    • Friendly, polished, and service-minded demeanor.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information professionally.

    Preferred Skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace.
    • Comfort with office technology including phones, printers, scanners, and copiers.
    • Experience with CRM, database, or membership management software is a plus.
    • Ability to draft basic professional emails, letters, and correspondence.
    • Experience assisting with events, customer service, or public-facing office roles is a plus.

    Work Environment
    • This position is primarily office-based and requires regular interaction with the public, members, and staff.
    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, answer phones, and perform routine office tasks throughout the workday.
    • Occasional lifting of office supplies, event materials, or boxes up to 25 pounds may be required.
    • Some early morning, evening, or occasional off-site event support may be required.
