    Event Description:
    This expanded three-hour car-caravan based tour of Hobcaw Barony creates opportunities to see and experience more than what is offered on the daily Discover Hobcaw Tour.

    With stops at the grounds of Bellefield Plantation, Friendfield Village, and then participants will follow the docent in their own cars to the pier at Hobcaw House to learn of the history of the house, family, and it’s visitors. Participants will then be allowed to enter the house for a brief view of the first floor interior of Hobcaw House. Participants have a chance to spend more time outdoors hearing expanded discussion of each location.

    Participants will need to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen, bug spray and water.     Restroom facilities will not be available during the program.  Participant’s automobiles will need to be able to navigate sandy and rustic dirt roads.  If weather conditions prevent safe travel, the program will be cancelled. (Exertion level: Moderate impact, walking, standing for long periods) 

    In response to Georgetown County Emergency Ordinance 20-33 and the COVID-19 situation, the Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center requires visitors to wear face coverings when entering the Discovery Center as well as other buildings on the tours,
