DO NOT miss out – Register today Tour de Plantersville & Cultural Festival Saturday, October 30, 2021 12, 25 and 62 mile ride options – pre-registration requiredOctober 08, 2021PLANTERSVILLE, South Carolina – The 3rd Annual Tour de Plantersville is offers a 12, 25 or 62 mile bicycle excursions down the Plantersville scenic Byway, capturing its rich rice farming history and explores various Colonial-era landmarks. The Dirleton Plantation-Samworth Wildlife Management Area is located along this stretch of byway and offers a chance to see some of the region’s wildlife in its natural habitat.
There are rest stops along the route and each historical site visited will have volunteer docents to introduce riders to the history of the property. Riders will have the opportunity to have special access to select historical plantations along the Pee Dee River.
Don’t have a bicycle or can’t transport it – not a problem! You can rent a bicycle from Cyclopedia for the 12 mile ride. They will bring the bike and helmet to the TdP and then take it back after the ride. You just have to call them to reserve your bike – only advanced pre-paid reservations are taken.
After the ride enjoy the outdoor Cultural Festival, open to all from 11 – 2 pm with Gullah Geechee Chamber overseeing a vendor area, a children’s activity area along with food to purchase including the Charleston Caribbean Creole Food Truck. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an African drum and dance group at 11 am and then Reggae Infinity performing authentic Roots Reggae from noon – 2 pm.
