DESCRIPTION:Two of the most recognizable aircraft of World War II are coming back to Georgetown. B-29 Superfortress "DOC" and P-51 Mustang "Gunfighter" will land at the Georgetown County Airport for a four-day tour stop Oct. 1-4\, giving residents another chance to see\, tour and even fly aboard the historic warbirds.\n\nDOC is one of only two Boeing B-29 Superfortresses still airworthy today\, out of 1\,644 built in Wichita\, Kansas\, during World War II. Gunfighter\, a P-51D Mustang\, is one of fewer than 150 of the roughly 15\,000 P-51s built during the war still in existence. Gunfighter is owned and operated by the Commemorative Air Force.\n\n \n\nBoth aircraft will be open for ground and cockpit tours at the Georgetown County Airport main terminal\, 129 Airport Road\, Georgetown:\n\n  Thursday\, Oct. 1 and Friday\, Oct. 2: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\n\n  Saturday\, Oct. 3: noon to 5 p.m.\n\nRamp and cockpit tour admission is $10 per person or $20 per family\, available at the gate.\n\nRide flights are also available for both aircraft:\n\n  B-29 DOC Flight Experience: Saturday and Sunday\, Oct. 3-4\, at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Tickets: www.b29doc.com/rides\n\n  P-51 Gunfighter rides: Oct. 2-4\, when the aircraft is not on static display.
