\nHarold Melvin &\; the Blue Notes were an American soul and R&\;B vocal group. One of the most popular Philadelphia soul groups of the 1970s. Founded in Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania\, the group is most noted for several hits on Gamble and Huff&rsquo\;s Philadelphia International label between 1972 and 1976\, although they performed and recorded until Melvin&rsquo\;s death in 1997.
Following the passing of Harold Melvin\, Donnell Gillespie was approached by his widow and invited to be one of &ldquo\;Harold Melvin&rsquo\;s Blue Notes&rdquo\; which were formed to keep Melvin&rsquo\;s music and memory alive.
\n\nHarold Melvin&rsquo\;s Blue Notes have been performing to standing room only audiences for decades. Harold Melvin&rsquo\;s Blue Notes are one of the most dynamic groups that came out of the Gamble-Huff music factory that produced groups like the Spinners and Stylistics. Among their credits were the many love songs &ldquo\;If You Don&rsquo\;t Know Me by Now&rdquo\; (nominated for a Grammy)\, &ldquo\;The Love I Lost\,&rdquo\; &ldquo\;Bad Luck\,&rdquo\; and &ldquo\;Wake Up Everybody&rdquo\;.
