DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a delicious breakfast and connect with other young professionals! Superintendent Keith Price of the Georgetown County School District will discuss his leadership story since taking the reins in June 2020. \n\n \nKeith Price became Superintendent of the Georgetown County School District in June 2020.\n\nMr. Price served as Assistant Superintendent in Richland School District Two from 2014 to 2020. In this role\, he worked with the secondary schools in the district\, which included the middle\, high\, adult education and alternative school as well as the Richland Two Institute of Innovation. Price also oversaw the Planning Department and all athletics.\n\nBefore becoming Assistant Superintendent\, he served as principal of Blythewood High School for seven years. An educator for 26 years\, Price took on his first administrative role after teaching mathematics for four years. He served as assistant administrator at Ridge View High School before working as an assistant principal at E.L. Wright Middle School. In 2003\, he was named the principal of E.L. Wright and held that position for four years before he became principal at Blythewood High.\n\nPrice earned a bachelor's degree in secondary mathematics education from Clemson University. He earned a Master of Education and Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of South Carolina and he is currently working towards earning his doctorate degree\, also from the University of South Carolina. Price served a three-year term on the Clemson University Board of Visitors\, is currently a member of the Coastal Carolina University Board of Visitors and was the 2019-2020 Richland County Education Office Professionals Administrator of the Year. He also received the S.C. Association of School Librarians' Administrator of the Year for 2014-2015\, and the 2013-2014 South Carolina Art Education Association's Outstanding Secondary Principal Award. Price is a 2021 Riley Institute Diversity Fellow and a member of the Pee Dee Education Consortium Board of Directors. Mr. Price is a member of the S.C. Association of School Administrators\, the American Association of School Administrators\, and Rotary.\n\nMr. Price has been married to Janet for 25 years and\, together\, they have four daughters: Amanda (23)\, Camryn (21)\, Lauren (19)\, and Micah (16).
