News for Immediate Release:
A traveling, interactive billboard thanking health care workers across South Carolina for their dedicated efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic will stop at Tidelands Health hospitals Sunday afternoon as part of its seven-day, statewide tour.
The South Carolina Hospital Association’s Healthcare Heroes Truck is scheduled to stop at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, then proceed to Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, where it is expected to arrive around 4:05 p.m.
The heroes truck will stay at each hospital for about 20 minutes and feature rotating displays of appreciation, including messages anyone can submit through Twitter with the hashtag #SCHealthCareHeroes.
The tour across South Carolina, kicking off Wednesday in the Upstate, also coincides with National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week.
“Every message of appreciation and support means so much to our dedicated team at Tidelands Health as we continue our efforts against COVID-19,” said Bruce Bailey, president and CEO of Tidelands Health. “We are eager to see the Healthcare Heroes Truck pull up to our hospitals with a huge display that will lift our team’s spirit.”
Community members are encouraged to show their support by submitting messages that will be displayed on the Healthcare Heroes Truck. Simply post your message on Twitter using the hashtag #SCHealthCareHeroes.
“Front line health care workers in South Carolina’s hospitals are the true heroes of COVID-19,” said Thornton Kirby, president and CEO of the South Carolina Hospital Association. “We want to make sure that doctors, nurses and all the state’s hospital employees know that their heroic efforts do not go unrecognized.”
Note to media: Journalists are welcome to cover the Healthcare Heroes Truck at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Please email Dawn Bryant at firstname.lastname@example.org by noon Sunday if you plan to attend.
