Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) Airport Leaders Urge Passengers to Arrive Early For Flights to Avoid Delays
Myrtle Beach, SC, April 28, 2021 – The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) continues to see large volumes of passenger traffic. Airport leaders are expecting record-breaking numbers this spring/summer and are urging passengers to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to their scheduled departure time to avoid missing their flight.
“Demand for travel to/from Myrtle Beach continues to surge and we’re experiencing incredibly heavy passenger traffic at MYR,” said Scott Van Moppes, Director of Airports. “Passenger traffic will remain heavy through spring and summer and we urge passengers to plan their travel accordingly. Passengers should arrive a minimum of 2 hours prior to their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for check-in and the security screening process. We thank our passengers in advance for their continued patience and cooperation.”
Passengers can save time at the airport by checking-in for their flight online prior to their arrival, ensuring carry-on bags meet TSA’s 3:1:1 rule and by ensuring checked baggage meets the size and weight requirements specified by their airline, prior to arriving at the airport. Passengers should also be reminded that air carriers require face coverings for travel.
