News for Immediate Release:
The March of Dimes has donated baby supplies to Tidelands Health Women’s Center to help new and expectant moms take care of their little ones amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agency gave $500 worth of diapers and baby wipes for patients at Tidelands Health Women’s Center, which has locations in Georgetown and at Holmestown Road in Myrtle Beach. The team of specialized physicians and providers at Tidelands Health Women’s Center provides support and care for every stage of pregnancy, from family planning through post-natal care.
“Thanks to this generous donation from March of Dimes, parents have needed supplies to care for their newborns during this challenging time,” said Dr. Xaviera Carter, a physician with Tidelands Health Women’s Center and a member of the March of Dimes Eastern South Carolina board of directors. “Every patient who received a bag of supplies was so surprised and grateful. The smiles on their faces showed how much it meant to them.”
The March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. The agency supports research, leads programs and provides education and advocacy so every baby has the best possible start.
“This pandemic has caused pregnant women a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty,” said Michelle Bessett, development manager with the March of Dimes. “We want to partner with Tidelands Health to offer support and needed supplies to help parents through this very difficult time.”
