News for Immediate Release:
The community’s generosity helped holiday trees shine more brightly at Tidelands Health last month.
Through donations to the annual Lights of Love campaign, community members honored or memorialized 628 loved ones, each represented with a light on the health system’s three holiday trees. The trees were on display at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and, for the first time, at Tidelands Health Medical Park at The Market Common.
Donors attended special tree-lighting events at each location. A light on the holiday tree could be purchased with a minimum $10 tax-deductible donation to the Tidelands Health Foundation.
The holiday campaign raised nearly $12,000 to fund scholarships for some of the 2,500 Tidelands Health employee partners who wish to advance their health care education. The scholarship program is administered through the McRoy and Jo Skipper Initiative for Learning and Teaching.
“The generosity of our community through the Lights of Love campaign warms our hearts every holiday season,” said Jessica Sasser, executive director of the Tidelands Health Foundation. “We extend our sincerest thanks to our community for embracing this special campaign and supporting education for health care professionals with their thoughtful donations.”
The Tidelands Health Foundation works in partnership with Tidelands Health, the region’s largest health care provider, to offer new technologies, modern facilities and increased access to health care services in the community.
